Your latest fix of X-Factor news!
Well, the quarter-finals are over and the semi-finals are looming, and X-Factor seems to be getting more exciting by the minute! This week we said goodbye to last of the groups and saw some all-out stellar performances as the remaining contestants up their game to stay in the competition. Aired on TV3 and sponsored by DoneDeal, We take a look at all the happenings and scandals going on this week, and what’s ahead of us this weekend on X-Factor! Stereo Kicks The X-Factor gang got considerably smaller this week, as eight piece boy band Stereo Kicks got the boot after a heated sing off with Lauren Platt. Always looking to get a dig in, Simon Cowell said that Louis Walsh’s poor song choice was to blame, but Louis was insistent that this was not the case, saying on The Xtra Factor: “I did 100% the best I could and they know that. They’ll tell you that later.” There were tears galore as the boys got the news, but given the success of X-Factor bands in the past, we’ll doubtless be seeing them again. Louis and Simon were not the only judges coming to blows this week; it seems Cheryl and Mel B had a bit of a falling out after the results on Sunday. Cheryl was reportedly livid at Mel’s decision to send Lauren Platt home over Stereo Kicks – and even took a swipe at her during the show, saying “I find it amazing how the critiques have been a certain way over recent weeks and then when it comes to this part it changes – that amazes me.” Apparently there was further bickering after the show, and the girls have been frosty with each other ever since – let’s hope they make up in time for this weekend’s show! Andrea Faustini It seems that some of the contestants have been enjoying their new luxury lifestyle a little too much, with a noticeable effect on their waistbands. Ben Haenow and Andrea Faustini have both been ordered by show bosses to go on diets in order to combat the pudge they’ve apparently gained since moving into the X-Factor house. The pair have been banned from chocolate and biscuits and were given a strict gym regime to follow – we understand that pop stars need to be in shape, but we can’t imagine Andrea without his chubby cheeks! This weekend’s live show will also see another trio of formidable guest performances, with girl group Fifth Harmony, former X Factor champ Sam Bailey and Frozen star Idina Menzel taking to the stage. X-Factor will be going festive for the semi-finals, with a ‘Countdown to Christmas’ theme. So tune in to TV3 this weekend to catch the next live shows, on Saturday 6 December at 8pm and Sunday 7 December at 8.15pm.
