What’s ahead for Week 2 of Live Shows on X-Factor

Well, that was a week worth remembering! The first live show saw some fantastic performances, exciting guests, and a double elimination that left fans – and Louis – reeling. With a first show this eventful, we can only guess what they have in store for us for the coming weeks. Aired on TV3 and sponsored by DoneDeal, X-Factor starts as it means to go on with excitement, tension and a star studded line up. Louis Walsh has proclaimed that he is ‘shell-shocked’ after two of his acts got the boot on Sunday night. Bombshell duo Blonde Electric and boyband Overload Generation both got the axe in a surprise double elimination. Simon, of course, wasted no time in getting a dig in at Louis, saying “Louis did a terrible job last night with his groups, and we’re friends so I can say that… Those artists are better than that.” Louis is still confident he’ll get an act through to the final though, as he told The Herald: “I have Chris Leonard from Meath and all of Ireland needs to get behind him and vote. I still think I can win the show but I will need help from home.” Stephanie Nala narrowly avoided eviction, and will have to step up her game if she is to continue competing with the formidable talent this year. There has been drama outside the show as well this week, as X-Factor’s poshest contestant, Chloe Jasmine, was rushed to hospital after stepping on a piece of glass. The 24 year old model was admitted after her foot reportedly swelled up to twice its size. She seems to be doing fine however, and her only worry is that this will eat into her rehearsal time – hopefully she’s back on her feet in time to break a leg in this week’s show! After belting out their number ones on last week’s show, the crew will be giving us a blast from the past as they tackle some 1980’s tunes, the second theme of the live shows. Some of the songs have already been revealed on The Xtra Factor: Jake Quickenden will be belting out a rendition of Bonnie Tyler’s Total Eclipse of the Heart, while Stevi Ritchie will have a little fun with Addicted to Love by Robert Palmer. Only The Young will lend their vocals to The Power of Love by Huey Lewis, while Chloe Jasmine will perform an undoubtedly individual version of Blondie’s iconic hit Call Me. With Taylor Swift and Pharrell Williams wowing the crowds last week with their performances, we are excited to see which stars will be gracing our screens for the second week. So tune in to TV3 this weekend to catch the next live shows, on Saturday 18 October at 7.30pm and Sunday 12 October at 8.15pm.
