Thanks to www.paulamalonecarty.com/ for photos. May DoneDeal Charity Month was another great success! Thanks to all the paid ads DoneDealers placed during the month, we’re now able to donate €37,370 to be shared equally between Educate Together, Fighting Blindness and Dublin Simon Community. We invited the charities to our offices to accept the cheque and to tell us a bit more about how this DoneDealers donation will help. Speaking at the cheque presentation: On behalf of Educate Together, Emer Nowlan, Chief Operating Officer said: “Until you have been involved, it is difficult to imagine the sheer amount and difficulty of the work involved in establishing a brand new school from community engagement, to fundraising, to recruitment, to furnishing and equipping the school building and classrooms. This school has been created from nothing, poster by poster, enrolment by enrolment, and table by table. It will grow to serve its community for decades to come. This donation helps to make sure it gets the very best start, and that students from every different background can learn together, and be inspired to reach their full academic and social potential.” Commenting on the donation, Amanda Kenny, Fundraising Communications Executive of Fighting Blindness said: “We’re delighted to be nominated as a DoneDeal charity this month! Huge thanks to Paul Flanagan for thinking of us and to the DoneDeal community for contributing to this wonderful campaign. We are simply blown away by the kindness and generosity. The donation will make a big difference – the medicine of tomorrow depends so much on investment in research today. Together we are fighting blindness.’’ Justyna Drogomirecka, Corporate Fundraising Manager of the Dublin Simon Community said: “On behalf of Dublin Simon Community and the people who rely on our services each day, we would like to thank everyone in DoneDeal for their support. You are providing people with life changing outreach, treatment, housing, homelessness prevention and education services. Your kindness will make a vital difference and enable the people and families to move to a safe and secure place they can call home.” #Charity #LatestCharityMonths
