Thanks to Paula Malone Carty Photography for the photos: www.paulamalonecarty.com Thanks to all the ads placed on DoneDeal during March’ DoneDeal Charity Month, we have been able to donate €36,822 to charity. For March, the chosen charities that will each get an equal share are The Peter McVerry Trust, the Alzheimer Society of Ireland and My Canine Companion. The week we were delighted to welcome the charities to DoneDeal HQ here in Wexford, to hand over the cheque and get to hear about the great work these charities do every single day. Speaking at the cheque presentation: Speaking on behalf of The Peter McVerry Trust, Director of Fundraising Anne-Marie Connolly said “We are extremely grateful to DoneDeal for their generous donation to Peter McVerry Trust. This contribution and support allows us to remain committed to moving people out of homelessness.”Niall Ruddy, Chief Executive of My Canine Companion said, “We are thrilled to have been chosen as one of DoneDeal’s charities of the month. €12,274 is a huge amount of money to a charity like ours, which receives no government funding. It couldn’t come at a better time as we have recently had to close our waiting lists due to a lack of funding. We would like to sincerely thank Shane Doyle, the DoneDeal employee for choosing us and to DoneDeal for this fantastic donation which will change the lives of several families. We would like to commend DoneDeal for their ongoing support to Irish charities throughout the recent difficult years.” Speaking on behalf of The Alzheimer Society of Ireland, CEO Colette Kelleher commented; “The ASI is Ireland’s leading dementia-specific service provider. There are currently 48,000 people living with dementia, a number expected to treble in a generation. These people are cared for by more than 50,000 family carers and they need to be supported. Donations such as this from DoneDeal enable The ASI to continue to provide vital services to people living with dementia up and down the country and I would like to sincerely thank DoneDeal for this generous donation and support.” #Charity
